1st SHARED CLASS DETAILS

Student Teachers: Aswathy, Nimisha A, Rinoja K S Class : VIII
Subject: Physics Division: A
Chapter: Force Strength: 36
Topic: Thrust Period : Vth
Student teachers introduced themselves and began the class by wishing the students. Aswathy introduced the topic by checking their previous knowledge on force. The students responded positively by shouting the definition of force. Nimisha took a geometry box of a student and asked the students to list out various forces acting on it. Students responded by mentioning gravitational force, frictional force and reaction force. At the same time Rinoja arranged the materials for the demonstration of thrust and rubbed blackboard and wrote subject name. After which students were introduced with various daily life experiences of thrust. Students listened very carefully and asked very interesting questions, which was appreciated and replied by the student teachers. Aswathy introduced the concept of Thrust which was elaborated and illustrated by Nimisha and Rinoja. A demonstration based on the textbook exercise was performed by Aswathy and Nimisha. Students were asked to come in lines and make required observation. The class was duly managed by Rinoja. After which a table was drawn in the blackboard and was filled with the help of the students by asking them questions related to the demonstration. Some students were responding very well while a few didn’t show any interest in these activities. Finally the definition and mathematical equation of Thrust was explained and written on the blackboard. Bye that time bell ran class was stopped and student teachers left the class by wishing the students.

2nd SHARED CLASS DETAILS

Student Teachers: Aswathy, Nimisha .A, Rinoja Class: IX
Subject: Chemistry
Division: F

Topic: Oxidation, Reduction, and Oxidation Number Period: 2nd

Student teachers introduced themselves and began the class by wishing the students. Optional teacher Bindu ma’am came to observe to observe the shared class of the student teachers. Aswathy begin the class by checking their previous knowledge on oxidation and reduction. Few answered the questions, Aswathy explained the concept and meaning of oxidation, reduction, oxidation number and reduction number. By that time Rinoja wrote few examples on the blackboard and encouraged students to answer. Further Rinoja explained the rules to determine oxidation number with the help of some examples. Students were not responding well. Then Bindu ma’am once again took the topic from the very basic concept. Students seemed to lack basic knowledge in chemistry and arithmetic knowledge was also not up to the required level. Teacher could explain the concept of oxidation in a very simple and effective manner. By then bell rang and class was stopped.
